The service
Reel Video Captions is a free browser tool that auto-generates and burns in captions on short-form videos. The service is currently in beta and provided free of charge, with no account required.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Reel Video Captions to:
- Upload content you do not have the rights to caption, distribute, or modify.
- Upload illegal content, including CSAM, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that infringes copyright.
- Attempt to overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service (e.g., automated mass uploads, DDoS, credential stuffing).
We reserve the right to rate-limit, block, or remove access from any client that abuses the service.
Your content
You keep all rights to the videos you upload. We do not claim any license to your content. Your uploaded video is deleted immediately after you download the captioned file — see the privacy policy for details.
No warranty
Reel Video Captions is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Transcription is generated by OpenAI Whisper and may contain errors. Always review captions before publishing. We are not liable for any loss, damages, or missed opportunities resulting from inaccurate captions, downtime, or processing failures.
Subscriptions and billing
Reel Video Captions Pro ("Founding customer plan") is offered as a $0 7-day trial followed by a recurring $8.99 USD/month subscription, billed by Stripe. The price you see at checkout is the price you lock in — if our retail rate goes up, you keep the founding rate as long as your subscription remains continuously active. You can cancel at any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged. To cancel after billing has begun, use Settings → Manage billing or email us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on every charge — email us within 30 days of the charge and we'll refund in full, no questions asked. After 30 days, charges are non-refundable except where required by law.
Failed payments. If a renewal fails, your access is downgraded to the free tier until you update your payment method. Subscriptions in past_due status retain access for a short grace period at our discretion.
Account termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms (especially the Acceptable use clause), if Stripe charges back a payment fraudulently, or if required by law. You may close your account at any time as described in our Privacy Policy.
YouTube users
By connecting a YouTube channel, you agree to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you publish through Reel Video Captions and for ensuring you have the rights to upload it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Chicago, Illinois.
Changes
These terms may change as the product evolves. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
