The service

Reel Video Captions is a transcript-based editor for long-form podcasts. You edit a recording by reading and searching its transcript, and you can export the full episode or short clips. The editor uses usage-based clip packs, and an account is required to purchase clips and to save exports to your library.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Reel Video Captions to:

• Edit or distribute content you do not have the rights to use or modify.
• Process illegal content, including CSAM, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that infringes copyright.
• Attempt to overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service (for example automated abuse, DDoS, or credential stuffing).

We reserve the right to rate-limit, block, or remove access from any account that abuses the service.

Your content

You keep all rights to the recordings you edit and the clips you export. We do not claim any license to your content. Your source video stays on your device while you edit; to generate the transcript, the audio track is sent to our server. See the privacy policy for details on processing and retention.

No warranty

Reel Video Captions is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Transcription is generated using the OpenAI Whisper API and may contain errors. Always review the transcript before publishing. We are not liable for any loss, damages, or missed opportunities resulting from inaccurate transcripts, downtime, or processing failures.

Purchase and billing

Reel Video Captions uses usage-based pricing. You purchase clip packs (Starter, Creator, or Pro) as one-time payments billed by Stripe. Each pack grants a number of clips; 1 clip equals 1 minute of exported video. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Clips do not expire. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay.

New accounts receive 2 free clips. Free clips are provided without payment and are not eligible for refund.

Refunds. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on paid clip packs. Email us within 30 days of your purchase and we will refund in full, no questions asked. After 30 days, or after the clips in a pack have been used, the purchase is non-refundable except where required by law.

Account termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms (especially the Acceptable use clause), if Stripe charges back a payment fraudulently, or if required by law. You may close your account at any time as described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Chicago, Illinois.

Changes

These terms may change as the product evolves. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
